Piemonte pallanza (verbania)

Port
Viale delle Magnolie, 2
45° 55' 16" N - 008° 33' 0" E

The centre of Pallanza is located on the slopes of the Monte Rosso, on the bank full of houses, villas, gardens and hotels. Here is the seat of the city hall of Verbania, which since 1939 brings together a number of coastal towns (Fondotoce, Suna, Pallanza and Intra) and other small villages  of the hinterland.
Pallanza, popular holiday resort, home of various industrial activities, offers from its pier, and from the central Piazza Garibaldi which faces the bay, beautiful views of the promenade.
Very close to the coast, lies Isolino S. Giovanni, already known in the eleventh century for a church that once stood, and where is visible in the thick vegetation, the Palace built in the seventeenth century and then passed to Borromeo family; the palace was for few decades, the summer residence of Arturo Toscanini.
In the important road Cavour (known as the Ruga) with its buildings from the XVIII century, stands the Palazzo Viani Dugnani-renovated in the early eighteenth century in late baroque style. There you will find the Museum History of Art and Landscape Verbano (built in 1909), and the collection of sculptures and casts of Troubetzkoi Paul, an artist of Russian origin, author of busts and monuments located in the nearby Piazza Garibaldi.
